Almost 8 billion people on this earth and growing exponentially…

and still, practically nobody is listening or caring…about ANYTHING. At the current rate of human growth, it’s entirely likely that there will be 32 billion people on this planet within the next 50 years fighting in the miserable heat for dwindling resources. I’d like to be more optimistic, but I would be lying to you & myself…we’re doomed….

“The way some people think is they think money, and all of their decisions are based on the fear of not making money. It’s not about anything else. Their jobs are at stake and they have to make money, and they think people won’t like this, we won’t have a hit, we won’t make money, and I’ll lose my job. It’s the wrong way to think, but that’s what happens.”

“. . . a stone, a leaf, an unfound door; a stone, a leaf, a door. And of all the forgotten faces.

Naked and alone we came into exile. In her dark womb we did not know our mother’s face; from the prison of her flesh have we come into the unspeakable and incommunicable prison of this earth.

Which of us has known his brother? Which of us has looked into his father’s heart? Which of us has not remained forever prison-pent? Which of us is not forever a stranger and alone?

O waste of lost, in the hot mazes, lost, among bright stars on this weary, unbright cinder, lost! Remembering speechlessly we seek the great forgotten language, the lost lane-end into heaven, a stone, a leaf, an unfound door. Where? When?

O lost, and by the wind grieved, ghost, come back again…”

“Nobody can save you but yourself. You will be put again and again into nearly impossible situations. They will attempt again and again to make you submit, quit and/or die quietly inside…and it will be easy enough to fail, but don’t, don’t, don’t. Just watch them. Listen to them. Do you want to be like that? A faceless, heartless, mindless being? Do you want to experience death before death? Nobody can save you but yourself and you’re worth saving. It’s a war not easily won but if anything is worth winning then this is it. Think about it. Think about saving yourself.”

“It’s an irritating reality that many places and events defy description…seem to demand silence, like a love affair you can never talk about. For a while after, you fumble for words, trying vainly to assemble a private narrative, an explanation, a comfortable way to frame where you’ve been and what’s happened. In the end, you’re just happy you were there…with your eyes open…and lived to see it.”

NOT A POEM

by THB3

it’s almost a poem,

but not quite, not really…

sometimes words fail me,

it’s quite often they fail us all

it seems to me that everything

has already been said,

a million, no, a billion,

even trillions of different ways,

recycled endlessly

across the millennia

when language fails us,

how do we explain those

sublime feelings that burn

way down deep in the heart

etched into our bones,

woven like a spiderweb

into the very fabric

of our souls?

what to say?

what to do?

only the wail of a distant siren,

a strong spring wind,

the song of a night bird

in the darkness…

only these things

give me any

kind of answer,

and a vague one, at that …

that is why there is no more to say here,

nothing else to be done,

simply embrace the silence and the void….
